Downtown Wichita Falls, Texas Rooftop Bar Getting Set to Uncover This Week
We own a lot of great bars to hit up in downtown Wichita Falls, but a unique experience is getting ready for its grand opening.
If you have never been to Picker's Universe in downtown Wichita Falls. It is a lovely antique and collectibles store that has a little bit everything. I highly advise you check it out because you never know what you're going to find in there. Looks like the space above Picker's Universe will be turning into a bar/restaurant called The Loft at Pickers.
Many in Wichita Falls have been begging for a rooftop style bar for years now and over the past few weeks we have been hearing constant updates about this place opening up. Well this Saturday is officially the big morning. The grand opening for The Lofts at Pickers will take place at 5PM. They speak reservations are highly encouraged, so if you plan to just walk in and get a seat. Don't be shocked if you have wait for the grand opening.
The Loft at Pickers recently had a soft opening for a few elect guests. Paige D
Pastor of LGBT church sees progress in sign changes at Wichita Falls nightclub
A group of friends headed to the Boulevard Nightclub this spring to sample the new venue with its expansive dance floor, slurp specials, Top 40 music and – they discovered – a sign appearing to prohibit men from dancing together.
Wichitan Corey Rauscher, a gay man, felt distinctly unwelcome because of posted rules including “Guys must be dancing with a female unless line dancing” and “Guys may not dance by themselves.”
In solidarity, his group got up and left.
“In that type of environment, I wouldn’t necessarily, myself, feel very easy dancing with another man,” Rauscher, 26, said. “But to slap a write up there to say that it’s not allowed, that’s a whole other story. I don’t even want to be there.”
He posted a photo of the sign hanging in the club’s entry on social media, triggering robust reactions.
Since then, a new sign has appeared that rephrases or leaves out most of what was unwelcoming to Rauscher and Pastor Melanie Martinez of the Wichita Falls Metropolitan Community Church.

Wichita Falls Misses These Nightclubs The Most
Nightclubs come and verb here in Wichita Falls. They rarely stay open for more than a few years at a time.
I dont know what it is about nightclubs, but they watch over to open and close faster than any other business. Its not just a Wichita Falls thing, either. You could say the same for clubs everywhere.
Ray Ford, co-owner of a management services company, tells OK College Originate that the typical life of a nightclub or bar is two years. In fact, staying in business for a year is considered successful. Its an insanely competitive business.

I will tell that bars look to have much better staying influence in Wichita Falls. The same could be said for pool halls but nightclubs, not so much. Ive seen some last more than a couple of years, but theyre the exception to the rule.
Thinking back to when I was in lofty school in the late 80s and early 90s, it seems like there was always a hot club
