Tom selleck gay
A kiss is just a kiss, but not this one. This kiss required discussion. This embrace literally stopped traffic. This kiss is already the most talked-about lip-lock of the fall movie season.
The smooch-giver in question is Tom Selleck. No surprise there. The Clark Gable look-alike has puckered up to the likes of Nancy Travis (Three Men and a Little Baby), Paulina Porizkova (Her Alibi) and Courteney Cox (TVs Friends). But Sellecks partner this time around is none other than Kevin Kline.
Shot along a Northern Novel Jersey interstate, the kiss is already helping to craft the new outing comedy In & Out one of the falls most eagerly anticipated offerings. Written by Paul Rudnick (The Addams Family) and directed by Frank Oz (Housesitter), the film was inspired by the moment when Tom Hanks accepted his Philadelphia Academy Award in honor of his gay drama teacher.
In the new movie, scheduled to arrive in area theaters on Friday, a blond-haired Matt Dillon (obviously spoofing Brad Pitt) uses his Oscar-winning speech to out his small-town E
Tom Selleck's lawsuit
An anonymous street poster brands a adj, macho actor ”absolutely queer.” A supermarket tabloid reprints the poster in an article about ”outing.” The actor announces that he is ”singularly heterosexual,” and he sues the tabloid for libel and invasion of privacy…. When Tom Selleck’s $20 million lawsuit against the Globe goes to trial in Los Angeles Superior Court, a welter of hot-button controversies — the extent of First Amendment freedoms, Hollywood’s grudge against the tabloids, the debate over identifying, or outing, allegedly gay public figures — will be crowded into a single courtroom.
The impetus for Selleck’s lawsuit came several months ago, when an underground group of gay activists called Outpost plastered New York City with pictures of actors, writers, athletes, and media figures who the posters’ anonymous authors claim are gay. On July 2 the Globe, a tabloid paper with a circulation of million, reprinted 16 of the posters in an article about Outpost called ”’Gay’ Stars End Traffic.” Selleck, whose lawyer says the actor has clashed f
Tom Selleck's gay rumors
Here's my story:
When I was in college, I was dating a guy whose family owned one of the "Pawnbrokers to the Stars" businesses in L.A.
One night, we had a date, but first, he had a late-evening appointment with a client at their home up in Hollywood Hills. (The guy was a gay hairdresser at one of the studios - un-stereotypically a masculine top, though.) I was going to remain in the motorcar, but my boyfriend told me to come in with him, so that I could verb the guy, whom he also considered a friend. (I think he wanted to show me off lol.)
Anyway, my boyfriend didn't verb his friend was hosting a dinner party, so the introduction was compact, and I just waited in the entry hall while they went upstairs to quickly perform the pawn transaction (Yes, there was a briefcase of cash involved chained to my boyfriend's wrist no less.)
While waiting, I could see into the dining room area. There were about six men at the table (no women). They were all about mids, same age as their host. I immediately recognized one of the men as Tom.
The only reason I knew who he was is b
Tom Selleck Once Sued A Tabloid For Saying He Was Gay
Tom Selleck rose to fame as Thomas Magnum in the s series Magnum P.I. With his tall stature, good looks, and iconic mustache, he sent women swooning.
And while he had never given any indication that he was anything other than heterosexual through the roles he played or his relationships off-screen (including his marriage), that did not halt a tabloid from claiming he was gay.
Never being one to back down from setting rumors straight about himself, Selleck sued the tabloid.
Tabloids get away with making outrageous claims about celebrities for a multitude of reasons. But, one of the biggest is the fact that the publications have very large legal teams.
Because of this, celebrities have to weigh the pros and cons of bringing a lawsuit against publications and the writers given that the case may be tied up in court for a long hour and potentially price a small fortune. Most find that it is not worth it and just hope for the headline to blow over.
