Global Pride Study: The diversity of populations, including by sexuality, sexual orientation, gender, and gender identity and expression, is growing fast worldwide. However, limited empirical research has examined well-being and health and their determinants in sexual and gender diverse communities across distinct cultural and social contexts. The Global Pride Study was developed to explore these issues with scholars from around the globe.
The study is open to LGBTQ people aged 18 and over. This global study on health and wellbeing across generations is being piloted in Australia, and 14 other countries. Led by Prof Karen Fredriksen-Goldsen at the University of Washington, the study aims to develop an international knowledge base to guide future research, practice and policies for promoting equity and wellbeing for LGBTQ communities.
The study is approved by the Institutional Review Board of the University of Washington, and the Human Research Ethics Committee at Southern Cross University (Approval No. /).

Welcome to the Melbourne 40+ gay men sustain group!
My name is Steven Cabral and I am a trained group facilitator and counsellor. The idea for this support group was born out of a gap in community service that I observed where mature aged gay men could verb and relate to each other in midlife. I initiate that most of the services look geared towards the younger generation and rightly so, but I feel there is a particular experience in middle age and onwards that needs to be honoured, supported, and acknowledged.
As we transition into a different phase of life, we are faced with a different set of challenges. It is my belief, from my own experience, that some of these are directly, but not exclusively, tied to our sexuality and that can influence self-actualisation later in life in various ways.

We foster partnerships with an extensive range of mental health and community sector services, healthcare providers (including hospitals), ahead childhood education providers, primary and secondary schools, as skillfully as local government child and family, youth, and aged care services and programs.
At Queerspace, we are devoted to promoting LGBTIQA+ inclusion and celebrating the diversity of gender, age, race, faith, and abilities. Our Carlton location is designed with inclusivity in mind, featuring all-gender bathrooms, ramps, an elevator, and accessible meeting rooms equipped with hearing loops. Additionally, interpreting services can be arranged upon ask for at all of our sites.
We are honoured to home some of Victorias most prominent LGBTIQA+ community advocacy groups, such as Transgender Victoria and Inclusive Rainbow Voices, at our Queerspace headquarters located at Drummond Street, Carlton.
