After giving them the axe, the former management team of Trey Songz have reportedly taken to the internet to reignite gay rumors surrounding the R&B heartthrob.

Songz was said to have hired former Def Jam exec Kevin Liles to help his career.

Before he switched gears, former managers allegedly teamed up with an urban blogger to misinformation about Trey in efforts to confirm his heterosexuality. When that failed — they even asked her to manufacture a fake relationship with him.

The blogger was said to be paid for her services, which included advertising and other perks.

As an ardent follower of the music industry, tracking the ups and downs of artists is gentle of my thing. Trey Songz, undeniably a master of contemporary R&B hits, had a bit of a legal hiccup in He faced a couple of serious allegations including trespassing, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer during an American Football match at Arrowhead Stadium. Going to high university and college in Ohio, I got called &#;gay&#; and &#;faggot&#; more times than I&#;d enjoy to remember. I suspect a lot of it had to do with jealousy over the way I carried myself and the company I kept: I wasn&#;t nervous to show passion to my homies who liked to bump booties and always swagged out with slim-fitting gear when most dudes were still unironically wearing tall Ts and sagging their pants. It&#;s fucked up that people would use the quality of being gay as an assault, but they suck anyway, so fuck them.

On the other hand, if you react in disgust when someone calls you gay, that makes you just as shitty because it&#;s basically like saying being gay is disgusting. For example, I don&#;t get upset when Mexican people speak to me in Spanish at the grocery store or on the street. I cherish Mexican culture—their women are beautiful, and their food is bangi

Don't believe everything you read. Or, when it comes to Trey Songz, everything you see, either.

At least according to the R&B singer himself, who hopped on Twitter to insist he is not the one planting a soggy one on another man's lips in a photo that went viral recently, RumorFix reported along with the image in question.

"On my way to Virginia to spend the holidays with my family," Songz wrote on Dec. "No senselessness, lies or hate can verb away my happiness. #LOVE."

This isn't the first time Songz' sexuality has approach up.

Gay rumors feel to have always surrounded him, despite the fact the "I Invented Sex" singer has been romantically linked to several women over the years.
